Sisters Cuisine

47 E 124th St, New York, NY 10035

Bright & cozy standby preparing Caribbean & Southern specialties & a signature pineapple cornbread.

Why did you select this location?
It is close to the hospital where many Caribbean nurses and employees work, as well as the New York College of Podiatric Medicine with international students with international palates. It was a residential African American neighborhood with affordable rent.

What do you love about your neighborhood?
We love the neighborhood park, which is named after a famous black Caribbean leader, Marcus Garvey! We love the many cultural activities and centers in the community. From the amphitheater to the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI) to the National Black Theatre (NBT) ! But first and foremost, we love our wonderful customers that have been supporting us in the neighborhood for almost a quarter century!

What project do you plan to use the Love Your Local grant funding to implement?
We plan to create a website for the business, purchase new equipment to increase efficiency and output capacity, and invest in staff training.
