Old-world Italian restaurant and cafe with an offering of homemade dishes, pizza, and gelato.
What year did you open your business and why?
The doors to Manducatis Rustica first opened in September 2008. I'd say that my culinary instinct was cultivated in me ever since I was a young girl working at my parent's restaurant. Growing up admiring their work ethic, passion, and love for the community inspired me to open my own restaurant and apply the techniques and love they always did to their restaurant.
How have real estate pressures impacted your business in the last 10 years?
I'm from the team that sees the glass half full. The growth in real estate in this community over recent years has helped bring more diverse clients to my business. At the same time, it has challenged me to constantly optimize the brand and environment of the restaurant to attract the new locals while preserving the heritage and history of the business. Hard work and love have allowed my family to continue this business generation after generation.
What project do you plan to use the Love Your Local grant funding to implement?
We are currently working on various expansion projects like Godmother's Pizza, which will be a delivery service for our business. We will also create a new backyard space to give our customers the option to dine outside and invest in our staff training to bring even more polish to the quality of our service.
